Lab.

Creative experiments where AI, design, and code collide. Light, sound, motion — generative visuals, playable instruments, interfaces that answer back. Each piece is a small machine for making something, built to be touched, not just looked at.

6 experiments

NOORD

Brussels, in numbers, then in ink. NOORD turns the city's open data — rain, sunshine, bike counters, air quality, street trees, transit stops — into A3 posters on a Swiss grid, printed in two inks. Pick the data and the grid, roll a seed, and export a print-ready file.

Type-O

A typo, on purpose. Type-O takes a real typeface and runs it through a stack of operators — fracture, stencil, melt, halftone, echo — until it becomes something else. Stack them by hand or roll a random typeface, then export what you made.

Lumen

A small wall of light that runs on its own. LUMEN is a 64×64 pixel panel you conduct from your phone — nearly forty animations, sixty-six palettes, scenes you save and bring back, a mood that follows the hour or the noise of the room. A Raspberry Pi paints every frame and keeps the show alive day and night; the phone is only a remote. Plug it in and walk away; it keeps going. The app and the full build guide are below.

Noise Floor

A generative drone system. Noise Floor builds slow, evolving walls of sound from oscillators, noise, and chance — drones that drift, layer, and never quite repeat. Shape it, name it, let it run. It’s an instrument for atmospheres, not songs.

Trace

Draw in the air. Trace watches your hand through the camera and turns your movement into a living line — no pen, no surface, just gesture becoming light. Pick a brush, pick a color, and paint in space. Whatever you make, you can keep.

Cookigotchi

A pocket frog that lives on your phone. Cookigotchi is a virtual pet in the spirit of the nineties classics, rebuilt as a web app: an egg on a lily pad, a tadpole you name, a frog that grows over days, sleeps at night, sulks when forgotten, falls in love and starts a family. Three mini-games, a shop, a moody companion who slowly learns to smile. Drawn by hand, built with AI, made first for one young player — and now open to anyone.
